I was tasked by the Make4Covid Board of Directors with designing an illustration and creating manufacturing specifications for a challenge coin that they were going to give to their teams of makers and fabricators that contributed to the effort to produce PPE during the shortages caused by the initial surges of COVID-19.

The illustration work was don initially in Adobe Illustrator, and optimized for production in SolidWorks. The final 3D model was used by the manufacturer to create a mold, and the final parts were gold plated and hand polished to create a tonal effect using the contrast between matte and gloss finishing.
